• Post a backdated friends only and screened post that reflect the date of your application.
• Private any pre-existing entries in your journal. • Choose two of the following to provide as examples: an entry, scene, narrative, or text-heavy character biography. Doubling up on example types is not permitted, meaning applicants should choose a variation of examples in order to be accepted. We base each applicant’s acceptance off of their examples, so please choose writing that you feel accurately displays your current style and ability. • Ensure that you have IP logging turned off. We also suggest disabling anonymous comments.
Additional information about applying: • We allow one challenge per role. • If you are attempting to override, please say so in the subject line of your application. • If you were removed for inactivity and are reapplying within three weeks of removal, you must post an update. If you are reapplying after three weeks, you may use examples. • Excessive reapplying/removal is not permitted. If you habitually leave the community/are removed for inactivity and reapply, you may be considered ineligible for acceptance. The mods will consider this on a case-by-case basis. Please be respectful of the community and our time. |
| — activity requirements |
|
• Introductions must be posted to framework within 48 hours. Members are required to reply to at least half of the comments they receive on their introduction. If you fail to post an intro within 48 hours and/or do not reply to half of its comments within a week, your role will be eligible for override.
• Updates are required every three weeks. One placeholder is allowed within a six week span. Placeholders may be backdated. Formal updates must be viewable through the friends page and show actual effort (think substantial word count, creative use of html, collages, or playlists with context). • Comment disabling is not allowed in an effort to encourage in character interaction. • Members are required to reply to at least half of the comments they receive on each update, even if it is a placeholder. If you do not reply to half of your comments within a week of posting, your role will be eligible for override. • Friends lists must be updated every three weeks. We encourage our members to make a habit of running both the adds and removals button each time they update. |
| — extensions & hiatuses |
|
• Extensions will only be granted to active members who have most recently posted a substantial update. We will not give extensions after a placeholder has been posted, or if you have not replied to at least half of the comments on your effort post. Extensions are capped at two days.
• Hiatuses can be as little as three weeks, and as much as eight weeks. In character activity is not allowed while on hiatus. This means that you should not post or reply to public comments, change your userinfo, layout or upload/change icons. If you show in character activity while on hiatus, it will be immediately voided. If you are over three weeks at this time, your role will be eligible for override. Privated entries, messaging app activity, and out of character communication through screened posts are allowed. You are required to post a substantial update after returning from hiatus, even if your last entry contained effort. |

• Linking journals in your website or userinfo that do not belong to community members is not allowed. We understand that people leave and it is not convenient to edit your userinfo in the moment. This will not cause us to take action; however, linking a journal that has never been in the community or leaving a link in place for a journal that has been removed for a substantial amount of time is disrespectful to the writer(s) who may want to apply for the role being linked, if it is not already filled. Keep in mind that we want to foster a welcoming environment. We will not be patrolling interests.
• Out of consideration for other members and community prospects, we also discourage adding outside journals to your friends list. Use your best judgment and be discreet. • Line-crossing and/or harassment will not be tolerated. If you experience line-crossing or harassment in any form, please contact a mod with all available information so that we are able to appropriately assess the situation and take action. • We will not respond to any inquiries about rejected applications. |
